The archaeological site of “Kastri” is located on a hill, 3 km. south of the settlement of Rizovouni. The ancient acropolis on the top of the hill was declared by the Government Gazette 35/B/02.02.62, while the complex of buildings of the Holy Monastery of the Dormition of the Theotokos was declared by the Government Gazette 693/B/19.08.97.

Kastri of Rizovouni is identified with Vaties, an Ilian colony.

The Κοκκινοπηλός Πρέβεζας is an area with red clay hills near Filippiada. The red color comes from iron oxides in the soil and was shaped by erosion over time. The landscape looks unusual and has archaeological importance because very old stone tools from early humans were found there.
